2025: PR isn’t dead for PR Week, winning an award, Gregg Wallace

Last entry for 2025 – 17th December Sir Martin Sorrell was on the Today programme on Radio 4 dismissing the PR industry as dead; on the 22nd Guy was among those quoted by PR Week objecting to both the tone and the substance of the interview.

PR Week logo, Guy quoted in and writes for the leading PR journal in the UK

Also in July 2025 Guy was quoted in PR Week on Gregg Wallace’s PR crisis and was pleased to see his quote forming the headline! In case anyone needs reminding, Wallace had been accused of sexual misconduct and the production company involved in the programme for which he was best known sacked him – upon which he decided to issue a statement blaming everyone else on his social media channels. PR Week asked Guy and a number of other experts what they thought – this was the second time the publication had asked what Guy thought about this.

Tik Tok Videos and PR disasters for PR Moment

PR Moment logo, UK publication in which Guy has been quoted often on PR disasters, Tik Tok videos and a great deal else.Earlier in the year PRmoment asked Guy for his view on Tik Tok videos – he drew heavily on his mid-life crisis and they published this. In early 2024 the same publication did a round-up of PR disasters in 2023 and he nominated two.

2023: Philip Schofield’s career tumble in PR Week

PR Week: In 2023 Philip Schofield fell from grace as a leading TV presenter on ITV. Guy told PR Week it had always been a mistake to pretend TV presenters were one big happy family.

Artificial intelligence is a hot topic – PRmoment asked Guy what he thought it would do to the PR and creative industries and he told them it would be a good tool but should never replace actual writers.

In 2023 education secretary Gillian Keegan had one of those “hot mic” moments when you think the mic is off but it’s still running. Guy is among those quoted suggesting this was a rookie error.
