WHO ARE CLAPPERTON MEDIA TRAINING?
About Us - our founder
You are concerned that your corporate message will be lost – and this is where a good media training service will help.
My name is Guy Clapperton, director and founder of Clapperton Media Associates. You can get together with me or one of my carefully-selected team online or in person for one of our media training sessions in which you’ll speak to us as current practitioners rather than full-time trainers. We’ll go through what journalists and audiences across all media want, techniques to retain control of an interview and how both parties can leave the room having got what they need.
My background is as a technology and business writer full time since January 1989, starting on the trade press and making my way into the nationals as a freelance since 1993. You may have seen me in the Guardian, Times, Sunday Telegraph, Observer, Independent and the New Statesman (particularly as launch editor of New Statesman Tech).
I run a podcast, The Near Futurist, based on which I do a lot of conference speaking and facilitating.
I know the tricks journalists can play and the traps they can set, intentionally or otherwise. I can help you avoid them. The rest of the team have other strengths and experiences – have a look at them by clicking here.

I am a full member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and am also one of that body’s trainers. I am therefore bound by the organisation’s code of ethics.
Clapperton Media Training can offer messaging sessions, open seminars for more than one client, interview practice and numerous other services both online and in person. The first step is for us to have a conversation with me so we can explore how exactly we can help.
